DESCRIPTION

An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 11.1 is affected. macOS before 10.13.1 is affected. tvOS before 11.1 is affected. watchOS before 4.1 is affected. The issue involves the "StreamingZip" component. It allows remote attackers to write to unintended pathnames via a crafted ZIP archive. Apple iOS, macOS High Sierra, tvOS, and watchOS are all products of Apple Inc. in the United States. Apple iOS is an operating system developed for mobile devices; macOS High Sierra is a dedicated operating system developed for Mac computers; tvOS is a smart TV operating system. watchOS is a smart watch operating system. StreamingZip is one of the streaming media compression components. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability with a malicious ZIP file to alter restricted areas of the file system. The following products and versions are affected: Apple iOS prior to 11.1; macOS High Sierra prior to 10.13.1; tvOS prior to 11.1; watchOS prior to 4.1.
